The Kulturarchiv Oberengadin (Upper Engadine Cultural Archive) is a public institution that collects documents on the culture of the Engadine and makes them available to the public. The Kulturarchiv Oberengadin was founded in 1988 as an association in order to become a repository for documents relating to Engadine history. The Kulturarchiv was created on a private initiative and the Verein Kulturarchiv Oberengadin is responsible for the institution. The Upper Engadin municipalities, canton, federal government, foundations and private individuals support the archive financially.

Temporary exhibition
“SUMMER IN THE ENGADIN - PHOTOGRAPHIC REFLECTIONS”
To mark the 70th anniversary of his death, the Upper Engadin Cultural Archive is honoring the work of photographer Gustav Sommer (1882–1956) with the multimedia exhibition “Summer in the Engadin – Photographic Reflections” at the Planta Tower in Zuoz. His historical photographs depict the Engadin caught between postcard idyll, social change, and technological modernity. Through three thematic sections—“Greetings and Kisses,” “People in the Frame,” and “Time in Flow”—the exhibition invites visitors to reexamine the past and present through the lens of photography.
The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 12, at 5 p.m. at the Planta Tower in Zuoz.
Exhibition: June – October, Monday through Friday, 2 – 5 p.m. at the Planta Tower in Zuoz
