The Museum Alpin is located in the Chesa Delnon, a stately Engadine house dating from 1716. The Museum Alpin was founded in 1971 by the Pontresina Mountain Guides Association; here the mountain world has found a multifaceted exhibition site: The fauna, flora and geology of the Grisons mountains are presented as well as the Alpine culture.
Museum Alpin, Pontresina

Permanent Exhibition
The exhibitions on summer and winter alpinism are a highlight. They offer an insight into the pioneering days of mountaineering, from the conquest of the Bernina massif to modern alpinism. The "Magic World of Minerals" in the Sury Collection and the Gian Saratz bird collection fascinate more than just children. The new permanent exhibition "Kameramuseum-Pontresina collecziun Flury-Lochau" shows the history of photography from 1863 to 2022.
Also worth seeing are the exhibition on the development of the SAC huts and the multimedia shows "Mountain Experience", "Alpine Flowers" and "Butterflies". The permanent exhibition "Kameramuseum-Pontresina collecziun Flury-Lochau" is one of the museum's treasures. A visit to the museum is rounded off with a quiet moment in the "POSETTA Alpine Garden".

Temporary exhibition
«From Rock Walls to Hightech –
Avalange Protection in Pontresina»
Special exhibition
The Sheep’s Mountain (in German “Schafberg”) above Pontresina can be described as an open-air “museum of avalanche barriers”. More than a hundred years ago, then by building walls of stone blocks and re-forestation efforts, a story began which has continued until today. In modern times, this is done with remote-controlled devices which trigger avalanches by igniting explosives on masts. The current special exhibition shows the development of protective measures on the mountain and casts a light on the challenging balance between the threat through avalanches and future-oriented village development. The exhibition was created in close cooperation with the Zuoz Office for Forest Development and Natural Hazards.
